Witness Uganda

Friday evening, I had the pleasure of seeing Witness Uganda at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Not knowing anything about the play going in, I had no idea what I was about to witness with this self-described “documentary musical.” I had no idea what that entailed, and that was the first time I ever saw those two words together. I immediately thought this would either be a snooze fest or the best thing ever. It turned out to be the latter.

My Album’s of the Year 2018

I love music.  I’ve listened to sooo many albums this year, been to sooo many concerts (including Beychella), and just had so many moments surrounding music.  2018 has brought in a lot of groundbreaking albums, surprise drops, and a lot of good auditory vibes.  There were a lot of solid albums this year, but these are the ones the I revisited the most throughout the year.

AT&T Shape Conference

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the AT&T Shape conference at Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank.  There were two super packed days on everything technology, media, and film related.  I was able to attend some very cool panels with people I look up to (Ava DuVernay, Issa Rae, and Diddy) and also saw a lot of cool behind-the-scenes movie magic. The first day, Saturday, was a long day for me- I went to three panels, did a Warner Bros studio tour, hit up the interactive soundstage, and went to the AT&T Film Awards…

Heaven Couldn't Wait For You

Five years ago my grandmother passed away.  I remember that day like it was yesterday.  I was working at as a host at a restaurant in DuPont Circle in DC, and at the time my brother worked right down the street from me.  He called my job and for whatever reason, I wasn’t at the host stand to answer the phone.  My manager came to me and told me to get my things and they were sending me home early.  Always about the coin, I questioned why.
